Montfort School, Anakkara, has a rich history that dates back to 1993 when the Montfort Brothers' Yercaud Province began exploring opportunities to establish a school in Kerala. His Excellency Mar Mathew Vattakkuzhy, the Bishop of Kanjirappally, Rev. Fr. Mathew Nellary, Director of Malanadu Development Society, and Fr. George Kottady, Parish Priest of St. Thomas Forane Church, Anakkara played instrumental roles in inviting the Montfort Brothers to start a school in Anakkara. In 1994, Rev. Bro. K. J. Sebastian, the first Director and Principal, began building work on the school. The school was officially inaugurated on June 19, 1995, with 220 students, ten staff members, and three Brothers, Bro. K. J. Sebastian, Bro. Joseph John and Bro. Camillus. Over the years, the school has grown steadily, and today it boasts over 2040 students and 140 teaching and non-teaching staff members. The school received CBSE affiliation for the 10th class in 1999 and for the 12th class in 2002. Boarding facilities for boys and girls were introduced in 2002 and 2004, respectively. The Augustinian Sisters joined the mission in 2004 to take over the girls' boarding facility. Throughout its journey, Montfort School, Anakkara, has been led by several dedicated Directors and Principals.
